Ductless Systems
Ductless systems cut out the middle man—your ductwork.
A gas furnace and central air conditioning (AC) unit rely on air ducts to circulate air around your Utah home or business. Ductless systems—also referred to as ductless mini splits—provide comfort without the ductwork.
These systems pair an outdoor condenser unit with an indoor air handler. A conduit, which houses the power cable, refrigerant tubing, suction tubing, and condensate drain, links the two units. You stay comfortable without having to deal with ductwork.
Plus, you can add multiple air handlers around your Salt Lake City home to create a zone control system, allowing you to control the heating and cooling of each area instead of adjusting the temperature for your entire home.
Just Right Plumbing, Heating, & Cooling is a trusted name for installing, replacing, repairing, and maintaining your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment—and that includes your ductless mini split. Ductless Installation and Replacement
If you’re planning a new construction project, remodeling, or adding an addition, going ductless could be your answer.
Installing or replacing ductwork is expensive. Over time, air ducts tend to leak—wasting energy and money. A ductless system eliminates these issues.
The main advantages of mini splits are their small size and flexibility for heating and cooling down individual rooms. Many models have multiple indoor air handling units connected to one outdoor unit, allowing you to customize your comfort.
Ductless mini splits are often easier to install than other HVAC systems. For example, the hook-up between the outdoor and indoor units generally requires only a three-inch hole through a wall for the conduit.
The remote-controlled indoor air handlers can be suspended from a ceiling, mounted flush into a drop ceiling, or hung on a wall. Floor-standing models are also available. Most indoor units have profiles of about seven inches deep and usually come with sleek, stylish jackets.
How long does it take to install a ductless mini split?
Our Just Right professionals can install a system with a single mounted unit in about four hours. Each additional air handler unit adds another two hours. These systems are much easier to install than a conventional HVAC system.
Where should the indoor air handler units go?
Wall-mounted units are easiest to install on an exterior wall near the outdoor unit. It's more challenging to connect the refrigerant lines to units mounted on interior walls—but possible to do. You can always count on our team to get it done just right.
